On The Go

We arrived in San Diego on Thursday and hit the ground running. We are settled into our home here, a little two bedroom - two bath, that we are sharing with another couple on staff.

On Saturday, we spent the day in Tijuana, Mexico where we visited an orphanage. There are roughly 85 kids ranging from new born to teenagers. Ninety percent of the children were rescued and removed from homes where they were used for child prostitution, and others were children of drug addicts or prostitutes. We had a lot of time to run around and play with the kids and had a VBS type setup for them. One of the ladies on staff read the story of David & Goliath in Spanish (I'm glad they didn't ask me to read it). It was entertaining to see the kids respond to what she was reading when I had no clue what she way saying. We also had crafts for hem to do and snacks. The boys loved to wrestle and play soccer, so that was a lot of fun. We will be heading down to the same orphanage one more time this summer, which will be great seeing them again.

One of the many wrestling matches.
