Weekend Fun!

We decided to have an at home date night on Friday. Normally we eat very early, while trying to keep Jack entertained. But, on Friday our schedule consisted of an appetizer, then an evening walk with Jack, and dinner after we put him to bed. We made citrus-pesto salmon, asparagus, and rice (followed by chocolate chip cookies, of course).

I LOVE taking pictures of food.

Saturday we spent the afternoon in Kansas City, highlighted by temps in the mid-70s and a trip to Chick-fil-a! We had so much fun and Jack really seemed to enjoy himself.

Of course, the fun was just beginning. We came home just in time to watch Nebraska beat Oklahoma!

After eating, Jack always climbs up on the couch to get my attention.

Jack's 1st Halloween

Today was Jack's first Halloween and it was a fun day! The weather was great, the Huskers won, and we got free Chipotle and Taco Bell! We had planned on dressing Jack up, but ended up deciding not to. It just seemed like too much work for a picture and the costume I had planned on getting from craigslist fell through. He did wear a little shirt that said "Daddy's Little Pumpkin" on it, and as always, he was pretty cute! We had a lot of fun, just having a Saturday together as a family!

Jack seems to find it so funny when daddy changes his dirty diapers.

Weekly Meeting

Last Thursday for our "weekly meeting" Matt Beattie was our featured speaker. Matt is a senior, preparing to graduate in December. It is always a highlight for me when we have students speak. I think it is valuable for them and for the students attending to hear from their peers. Matt did a great job sharing from his own life while talking about the need to persevere.

We were also joined by Chris Harris, who is a defensive back for the KU football team. Chris came to share his testimony. Of course, students love hearing from ANY basketball or football player, so they really enjoyed that as well.

Family Fun

It was a rough start to Saturday. Nebraska gives up 8 turnovers and loses to Iowa State in Lincoln for the first time since 1977. After the game we had a fun family outing and then we came home, where Jack and I just had so much fun together. It's so great to hear him laugh and know he loves us too. Really helps put things into perspective.

Jack Is 6 Months Old!

Jack turned 6 months old on October 13th. Time just flies - it seems like he was just born. Now he is laughing and interacting with us so much. We are really enjoying the fact that he is finally sleeping well at night. He has been waking up once and typically goes down pretty easy after a quick bottle.

He is so much fun and we just love him so much!
