On Tuesday, we went to the University of California-San Diego for the day to share our faith with students. The campus is about 41,000 and is primarily Christian and Jewish, but very diverse. I have never experienced having spiritual conversations with so many different people in a single day. We talked with a Jewish person, a Mormon, a guy on drugs, Philosophy students/atheists, an apathetic guy, and we met a Christian. It was quite an experience and proved for some very interesting conversations.
Today, we went out sharing in the area where we live. The weather was breezy, gray, and mid 60's, so there were not many people on the beaches, but we found some. In a conversation with Kuba, from the Czech Republic, I began seeing how significant evangelism is, not only to reach non-believers, but also for our own lives and what we learn through those times. Kuba doesn't believe in God, and his response to what happens after death is that we cease to exist. He admitted when he gets older and feels closer to death, he will probably think about it more. It reminded me of how thankful I am for the hope we have in Christ and the purpose of our existence.
