National Staff Conference

Leaving home for ten days without Alicia and the boys was much more difficult than I had anticipated. After saying goodbye to Alicia with Jack latched around my neck and Wyatt giving me his big smile, I ventured out to Colorado for our biennial National Staff Conference.

Joining with the leaders from our organization and the 5,000 other staff from around the U.S. is always a refreshing and visionary time. It was so good to return home to my family, but I also really enjoyed the conference and a few of the highlights of that time include:

  • Hearing from Francis Chan for two of our morning sessions

  • Hearing from our National Leadership. Alicia and I appreciate their heart and the way they always draw us back to Jesus.

  • Being introduced to the new name of our organization “Cru” effective 2012.

  • Reconnecting with friends and making friends with other staff.

  • Concert by the David Crowder Band.

  • Time alone - I was able to spend some good alone time at Horsetooth Reservoir, on the west side of Fort Collins. And while I hated not being able to help Alicia at home, I loved getting to sleep through each night.
