“The families of the first miners rescued from the San Jose
mine were deeply moved and surprised, but not only to be
with them again. Some of the surprise was because of the
T-shirts that many of miners wore as they came to the surface.
The shirts, which have a large White star over blue and red on the front, have the words “¡Gracias Señor! Thank you Lord”. On the back the shirts another phrase appears “In his hand are the depths of the earth and the peaks of the mountains are also his. His is the honor an the glory" which corresponds to Psalm 95 verse 4." |
It was just a few weeks ago when we contacted some of the
families of the 33 miners trapped in the San José mine, in order to give them the Word of
God and the Jesus film in audio in 33 MP3s, one for each of them.
José Henriquez was our contact inside the mine. He is an extraordinary man. The psychologists that were monitoring the group recognized his tremendous emotional and spiritual support for the rest of the miners. He wrote the following in a letter: -“I want to thank God for this tremendous blessing for me and my coworkers. It will be good for our edification" (referring to the MP3s) -“I am well because Christ lives in me” -“We have prayer meetings at 12:00am and 6:00pm” -“I ask you to pray not only for the people here but for all the souls that are lost in the world” At the end of the letter he closed with Psalm 95:4. “In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him”.
