Our Growth Groups

Before the students even arrived, we were given the names of the guys/girls that would be in our growth groups. A "growth group" is a small group of people who basically do everything together throughout the summer. On day one, we spent all afternoon together listening to everyone's life stories, so we got to know each other quickly! Everything from sharing our faith on campus and on the beach to Bible studies and men's and women's discussions, we do it all in our growth group. Ted and I also meet one-on-one with each of our students every week to disciple them. I've really enjoyed this, because it allows us to connect, on a deeper level, with each student individually. It has been fun to see the students grow so much in just a few short weeks! God has done so much in each of their lives as they've been taking steps of faith in sharing their faith, being vulnerable with one another, and in taking leadership of certain aspects of the project. Please pray for these students, that they would continue to step out in faith this summer. Pray that they would continue to be open to what the Lord has for them. Not just here in San Diego this summer, but also when they go home. Pray that they would continue to go deeper in their walks with the Lord, in their relationships with other men/women, and in relationships with non-believers at work, in the community, or at home.
